Common questions, with answers.

Bush Willow Lodge sits just a few hours’ drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, making it an easy escape into the wild. The nearest major airport is OR Tambo International, about a three-hour drive away. From Pretoria, the journey takes roughly two and a half hours through scenic bushveld landscapes.

You don’t need a full off-road vehicle, but smaller cars may struggle on the bush roads, and low-sitting vehicles are unlikely to make it safely.

The lodge is R8,500 per night for up to 8 guests, and R9,500 per night for up to 12 guests, with a minimum stay of 3 nights.

Besides hyena and leopard, there aren’t any extremely dangerous animals, and you won’t need to carry a rifle, as most wildlife is shy. All walks are guided, however, because some species can be dangerous and the property is large enough to get lost on.

The rainy season, at the end and start of the year, transforms the farm into a lush, jungle-like paradise. The dry winter months, however, are best for game viewing, when wildlife is easier to spot.
