We offer experienced professional hunters and access to 10,000 hectares of pristine bushveld, ideal for plains game hunting. Wing shooting takes place on nearby agricultural fields and is one of the most common and enjoyable forms of hunting in South Africa. What sets us apart is the exclusivity of the experience and the sheer scale of land available to our guests. Click below to view our full list of species.
Your hunting experience at Al Thandiwe begins with a session on the shooting range to get your eye in and ensure you’re comfortable. From there, we set off into the bush with our professional guides to track your trophy. Once the animal is located, a clean and respectful shot is taken. We pause to give thanks, and the animal is then collected by our team. Afterward, you decide what you’d like to do with your trophy – whether to mount, process, or simply reflect on the experience.
Your hunt begins in a concealed hide, carefully positioned along game paths or waterholes. You sit in silence, blending into the landscape, reading every sound and movement. When the moment comes, you draw with precision and release cleanly, taking your trophy with skill and patience. After the shot, we give thanks and retrieve the animal respectfully. You then decide how you’d like to handle your trophy going forward.
Guests are encouraged to bring neutral-colored clothing that blends into the bush – think greens, browns, or camo – as well as a wide-brimmed hat for sun protection and quiet, durable boots suitable for walking in the veld. Mornings and evenings can be cool, so a lightweight jacket is also recommended. Beyond that, everything else is taken care of – rifles, ammunition, and all refreshments are provided during your stay.
At Al Thandiwe, ethical hunting is at the core of everything we do. Every hunt is guided with respect for the animal, the land, and fair chase principles. We ensure clean shots, responsible tracking, and full use of the animal, upholding the highest standards of conservation and integrity.
No, a hunting license is not required for most plains game species. However, permits are needed for select animals, and we handle all necessary paperwork on your behalf.
“My experience at Al Thandiwe was truly unforgettable. The staff were incredibly professional, the environment was peaceful, and every part of the hunt was handled with integrity and respect for the land. I’ve hunted in many places, but few offer the authenticity and hospitality we found here in South Africa. شكراً جزيلاً لكم على كل شيء”
