Wing Shooting

The Al Thandiwe Wing Shooting Process

When the First Light Breaks, the Hunt Begins - Swift Shots, Soaring Birds, and Stories Worth Retelling

We set out before dawn to reach the fields while the birds are most active. Our guides already know where flocks are feeding and moving, giving you the best chance to surprise them in flight. When the moment comes, you’ll step into a full aerial encounter as birds rise across open ground. After the action, our team and trained dogs collect your birds for photos and a well-earned meal. Whether you’re a seasoned shot or new to wing shooting, professional guides are there to help you build skill and confidence every step of the way.

If you want to know anything,
just pop us a message.

We provide all the necessary equipment, including guns, ammunition, and safety gear—everything is included in the price of your wing shooting experience. You’re welcome to bring your own shotgun or preferred accessories if you wish. The only items you must bring are comfortable camouflage clothing, a hat for sun protection, and durable shoes suitable for walking in the field.

Agricultural wingshooting in Limpopo typically takes place during the cooler months of the year, mainly from April to September. This period aligns with the dry season when bird activity is higher and the conditions are ideal for wingshooting. During these months, farmers and hunters take advantage of the natural migration and breeding patterns of game birds, making it the prime time for a successful and ethical wingshooting experience.

All wing shooting is conducted under strict safety and ethical guidelines. Hunters must follow instructions from professional guides at all times. Shooting is only permitted when birds are in safe flight zones, and alcohol consumption is not allowed before or during the hunt. We also adhere to all local hunting regulations and bag limits to ensure sustainable practices.

Testimonials

“My experience at Al Thandiwe was truly unforgettable. The staff were incredibly professional, the environment was peaceful, and every part of the hunt was handled with integrity and respect for the land. I’ve hunted in many places, but few offer the authenticity and hospitality we found here in South Africa. شكراً جزيلاً لكم على كل شيء”
